Hari ini versi Beta dari Internet Explorer telah dapat diunduh melalui web http://www.beautyoftheweb.com/. Bagi yang ingin menjajal kemampuan Internet Explorer 9 ini, dapat langsung mengunduhnya pada url diatas atau dapat langsung mengklik disini.

Internet Explorer 9 memasuki prosesor grafis melalui Windows untuk memanfaatkan potensi penuh dari PC kita. Hal ini menjadikan HD video yang lebih halus, warna lebih jelas, grafis jelas, dan website lebih responsif. Dikombinasikan dengan mesin baru JavaScript, penjelajahan web dilakukan seperti aplikasi yang diinstal secara langsung pada komputer Anda. Internet Explorer 9 juga menambahkan beberapa fitur untuk mengurangi jumlah klik yang diperlukan untuk menjelajahi sebuah web. Kita dapat membuat pin situs favorit pada task bar. Fitur baru ini membuat pengalaman browsing web benar-benar cepat.

Baru-baru ini telah diumumkan bahwa phpBB kini disupport oleh SQL Server. Hal ini telah diumumkan oleh Tim Pengembang dari Microsoft secara resmi pada blog MSDN. phpBB adalah sebuah software yang dapat digunakan untuk membangun komunitas baru dengan mudah. Kita dapat membuat komunitas untuk teman-teman sekolah, alumni, fans club, dan lain-lain dan software ini dapat anda download dengan gratis.

Our team is really excited to announce the new release of phpBB 3.0.7-PL1 by the phpBB community that supports SQL Server, and one can download it from the Web Application Gallery for a very easy install!!
But let’s step back for a moment and provide some background. Microsoft’s Interoperability team has been working with a few PHP projects to support SQL Server using our driver, phpBB was one of them. Although phpBB already had some support for SQL Server / Access, our 1.1 release driver offered support for UTF-8, Multiple Active Recordsets (MARS) and SQL Azure. Support for all of these capabilities became available with the release of the SQL Server Driver for PHP 1.1 in Oct 2009 - so Microsoft created a patch for phpBB to support SQL Server, tested it heavily, and submitted the patch into the project early this year. However, phpBB 3.0.7 had just been released so this patch was scheduled for the 3.0.8 release.
Coincidentally, Microsoft organized the Jump In! Camp in Zurich and a few of the key phpBB project developers (Nils Adermann, Henry Sudhof and Chris Smith) were invited to attend. At the camp, they had the opportunity to test a custom build with the patch on Windows with IIS, WinCache (an open source project under the BSD license submitted by Microsoft into PECL), SQL Server Driver for PHP 1.1, and SQL Server.
The phpBB team also worked with the Web Platform Installer team to prepare the new release to be available in the Web Application Gallery. You can read all about it on the web platform team's announcement.
Elated with the fantastic progress made at the camp, Nils/Henry/Chris decided to publish a new release that now supports several databases including SQL Server!! Read what they have to say on their development forum and their blog.

This is another great example of Microsoft and the PHP community working well together to improve the interoperability of their projects with Windows, IIS, SQL Server, Windows Azure & SQL Azure and provide more value to customers. It feels great to be a part of this effort and the opportunity to work with some really cool guys like Nils, Henry and Chris, we look forward to working with them in the future!

Alhamdulillah, hari ini dan malam ini *** mood saya untuk kembali mengisi blog perlahan-lahan mulai kembali lagi. Setelah 2 bulan gak nulis sesuatu pada blog ini dikarenakan kegiatan kantor yang cukup padat rasanya kangen juga. Apalagi dalam bulan juli – agustus saya mengikuti diklat kantor yang diadakan di Ciawi – Bogor. Oh ya, topiknya adalah System Restore pada Windows 7, mungkin agak berhubungan dengan mood saya, saya ingin ‘me-restore’ kembali mood tersebut.
Pernahkah anda melakukan instalasi berbagai macam software pada Windows 7 anda? setalah anda mengistall sesuatu pada Windows anda, system akan otomatis akan meng-update registry sesuai dengan kebutuhan sistem yang telah terinstall. Suatu saat anda juga akan meng-uninstall software tersebut setelah anda merasa tidak membutuhkannya lagi. Kadang proses uninstall tidak berjalan dengan sempurna, bahkan sampai merusak registry sehingga akan menimbulkan crash atau hang. Nah disinilah kita membutuhkan System Restore untuk mengembalikan keadaan mesin seperti semula (sebelum software tersebut diinstall).
Untuk melakukan System Restore, kita dapat langsung mengetikkan pada icon Start atau dapat ke Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Recovery
Silahkan klik Next
Disini akan terlihat aktivitas terakhir pada mesin anda.
Beri centang pada “Show more restore points” untuk melihat aktivitas yang lebih lengkap pada mesin anda.
Silahkan pilih pada aktivitas yang ingin direstore lalu klik Next.
Dan klik Finish apabila anda telah selesai.
Lalu liat hasilnya …!!! mesin anda akan kembali ke system semula sebelum anda menginstall software!. Selamat mencoba!
